Mothers Day 2010

This is where it all started...

This was a great Mothers Day. I got to start it off by having a girls day with just my mom and sisters, NO KIDS, up in Park City, shopping and eating!

It's funny how on the day we give and get respect as moms is the one day we want a break from being a mom, but hey, I will take it when I can get it! We found some awesome deals at the outlets and then went to eat at some pizza/pasta place that I don't remember the name but do recall how overpriced the food was. Gotta love Park City

Sunday we went to church and had a wonderful sacrament meeting and then, as always, enjoyed teaching our 5 year olds in Primary. We really do have the best class, they keep us laughing! Once church was over it was crunch time. Irey went down for a nap and Brandon lovingly assisted me in the kitchen while I whipped our my homemade rolls and a salad for Lunch at his parents house.

We got to hang out with the Blackwells all afternoon and Mike and Brit made the trip from Bountiful. It's so rare we get the whole family together, so it made for a real special day. And Irey, of course was loving every second of it because there are eight adults who are giving her all the attention!

Irey was really sweet and gave me some "flowers" for Mothers Day. This little girl really makes my day. I adore her! I can't believe such a tiny little soul can make me want to be a better person. Everything I do is for this little girl. The love a mother has for her child is amazing to me and at times, overwhelming. She keeps me going on days that I really feel like I can't. Which is great because it saves her life on the days she is very naughty!

After the Blackwells we went over to my parents house/ our temporary home, for dinner with my family. It is always wild and crazy  so needless to say there are no pictures of this event taking place! But our husbands were kind enough to take the kids home and put them to bed while us sisters enjoyed playing cards with our parents and brother.

It was a great day. It feels good to know that you are appreciated and loved. Brandon did a great job of helping me and doing what he could to make it a special day. He even made a video of a bunch of pictures of Irey and I. There is a part in the video towards the end where it shows a bunch of pictures of Irey and I when she was in the hospital. It made me cry, I hate when that happens, but it was so sweet and I thought it was a neat thing for him to put together. I know I wouldn't be able to be a mom to Irey with out Brands taking on the role of the dad. He is such a good balance to me. I couldn't do it with out him!
