Irelyn's Dance Recital

Every parent has a moment where they realize,  OH my gosh you are SO my child!  Well at Irey's dance recital I realized how much of her mother she really has in her!

Irelyn's recital was last Tuesday. I can't tell you why, because she is only 3, but I was so nervous for her. I was worried she was going to freak out and run off stage or worse stay on stage and cry the whole time. I didn't expect her to be the DIVA that she was. The younger classes are always the most entertaining to watch because you never know what they are going to do. Well Irey gave quite the show with her funny little personality. All the other little lady bugs listened to the teacher and followed her instructions on stage. Did Irey? NOPE! She danced around the whole stage like she owned it! She had us all laughing SO hard. Even though it was a ballet routine Irey did a lot of toe tapping, as expected, and a lot of booty shaking, not part of the routine. Then when all the lady bugs left the stage Irey kept on dancing, probably thinking all the clapping and cheering was for her. Her teacher had to get her off the stage because as long as the audience was clapping, she was going to give them a show and keep on dancing! She was quite the little character.

In the end when they had the whole cast on stage, including all the little lady bugs, they started introducing the teachers and giving them flowers. People were clapping and cheering, and I am guess that made Irey think they wanted a encore because she made her way to front and center of the stage and started her very own dance routine, AGAIN. Of course the volume of laughter from the audience kept motivating her to keep on dancing and having a good time, even though her teachers were trying earnestly to get her to stand in the back with her class. Well once she got back with her class she continued dancing in place the whole time.

I could be embarrassed that she ran away with the show but I just loved it. It's one of the things I love about Irey, she just goes to the beat of her own drum. Now when she is 6 and if she does this, it wont be so endearing, but since she is 3 and so dang cute, we couldn't stop laughing about it. Everyone kept coming up to us after the show and would tell us how funny they thought it was! She was a very popular Lady Bug. And good things Miss Ashley has a sense of humor and thought it was funny instead of being annoyed that Irey is a stage hog!

We are very proud of our little Irey bug and we love that she lets that personality shine! I think the best thing we learned about Irey is she is a performer... we will have to keep her going in all things involving a stage and lots of people to clap and cheer for her!
