Father's day

I know this is late but what can ya do?

For this Father's Day Irey woke up extra early and snuck into the kitchen with mom to make dad fried eggs and Cinnamon french toast. Or it's possible she was just being very good to stay in her crib drinking a bottle while mom did all the work, but that's besides the point. So Brandon got to have some yummy (if I may say so myself) breakfast in bed, a Father's Day classic! We also might have skipped out on the first hour of church but who can know for sure?

After church we went up to the Blackwell house in good ol' Springville for a Father's Day lunch! We had the dads open their gifts. Brent got Little House on the Prairie from us. It's comical, I know, my father-in-law just loves it so we keep the seasons coming for all occasions! Brandon got some new kicks and a shirt from Irey and I, as well as, a mall certificate from his mama!

After a loooooooooong nap we packed up and headed to Provo for a Father's Day dinner with the Schroeppel's at the Jensen's (still with me?). Devin turned the ripe ol' age of 30 so we were doing double duty.

Devin, Luke, and Brandon doing what they do best, hiding from the woman talk! And my poor father was doing what he does best, playing with the kids... I just wonder why we were never smart enough to tie him up? He is a good sport!

All in all it was a great day. I am grateful to have the opportunity to show our love and appreciation to our dad's. They have done more then I can say for us and I am glad we got this day to acknowledge them.

But the one person I really want to recognize is Brandon. I couldn't have hand picked a better dad for my kids. He has always attracted me with his love for kids. He is and has been since day one, so great with Irey. He has always been more then willing to help me with whatever I needed with her; midnight feedings, 100th diaper change for the day, taking our countless bags of diapers and things to the trash, playing with her when mom just need to lay down, and more then I can really list.

The day Irey was born I fell in a whole new kind of love with Brandon. He didn't sleep those first few nights because he couldn't take his eyes off her. He ran home to get some things and made sure to grab a bow and a bracelet that he himself put on her. He always has taken such love and care with her. He did great to adjust so quickly to being a little girls daddy, bows and all. I have never seen a more proud and ecstatic man in my whole life. When I worked on Saturday's he looked forward to their day together and I am sure was a little bumbed when I quit. He is the best and teaching her all his wrestling moves. From day one to today he has been there for her above and beyond, every step of the way. He is a great dad and I am more then grateful for his love and support. Brandon, you are amazing. No one I know can work the hours you do and still not let it get in the way of being #1 dad. We love you! Happy Father's day.
