Holiday Traditions

To me the holidays are all about traditions, friends, family, and taking a heck of a lot of pictures to document every moment. Hey it may bug my husband now but when he is old and missing me (I get to go first, we have a deal) he will be glad to have all the memories to look back on!

One of our first traditions is to go to temple square and see the lights!

This year we went with Gar and Lisa. We went to dinner first then walked to temple square with a cold and mad Irey, hung out for like 5 min. because Irey was screaming the whole time, and walked back to the car to go home! We always love to see the Caldwells and we are glad they are our friends even though we have a baby who cried the whole time.
Next year we are going to have Irey work on her Christmas spirit!

Another tradition that my mom started since the beginning of her Schroeppel daughters was a new Christmas dress. Well I am not stopping just because I am old, so Irey and I got new Christmas dresses! My dress was so lovingly found by my mom on the clearance rack, which makes me love it even more (Jackie has shopping super powers). Irey's is from the lovely Crazy 8 collection. Gymboree is just a thing of the past since I fell in love with Crazy 8! Her jacket and skirt was like $18 and it still has that Gymboree quality that I love.
Anyways back to the Holidays...

One of my favorite traditions is making Gingerbread houses with the Blackwell's. This year the newly married Britt and Mike joined in! As always, it was a lot of fun and Mom-in-law made it spectacular with her oodles of candy!
The entire Blackwell clan! Its rare we are all together so it was a blast to have everyone join in!
Even Irey got into it a little this year. She mostly ate the candy but still fun to have her cute little helping hand. Next year I am sure she will make a house all by herself, I am too much of a perfectionist to let her mess mine up, bad mommy!
I just can't ever pass up a family pic moment!
Not that this is really a tradition but it was during the holidays. Brent jr. had a race that we went to up in Heber. It was his first one! It looked like a lot of fun and really scary!
Brent always loves to try new things and it's always fun for us to watch.
And of course since the holidays are about family it was a blast getting to hang out with some fam for a bit!

I love the holidays for the tradition reason alone. Its so fun to see the traditions you have. Its also so excited to have your own little family and start new ones. It looks like you had a great christmas season. We sure love you guys.
