Happy Birthday Mom

Yesterday, December 6th, was Brenda's birthday. If it weren't for this woman I would be in a world of trouble. First of all I wouldn't have had my hubby. Brandon is the oldest of Brenda's 5 kids. Brandon and Brenda have always had a close relationship and I know because of that I have the wonderful man I married.
Brenda has ALWAYS been such a good example of NEVER ENDING service. This woman is so giving and so loving, her ability to love is amazing. She is always so willing to drop her whole day to accommodate you and help you out in any way. Whenever I am in a tight spot and I have so much on my plate, Brenda is always so quick to call and offer to do whatever she can. I don't think this woman has ever come to my house when I have been sick (which has been often) without cleaning something or folding laundry. She is so aware of how everyone else feels and is always making her best effort to made everyone happy. I know it's not easy for her to always be worried about everyone else and never take a second for herself.

This birthday I wanted to make her feel great about herself because I cant think anyone who is more deserving. Brenda is ALWAYS saying, "Oh that's so cute, I could never where that." The poor woman hasn't a clue how dang cute she is, so I self assigned it my mission to make her see that she is as beautiful outside as she is in. So a week and a half before her birthday the kids, Brent, and I took Brenda shopping for so NEW CLOTHES! We had such a fun time playing dress up, ok I had the MOST fun, but we found her some really cute things. We ended up with a few new pair of pants and shoes, half a dozen shirts, and two new jackets (plus a new AWESOME cute bra). Brent was a good sport following us around with his credit card, we put it to good use! After I took the presents home to wrapped them up to be opened on her birthday. Brandon was laughing at me because I was very adamant about using BIRTHDAY wrapping paper NOT CHRISTMAS. If your birthday is in December you don't want it to be blended in with Christmas!

On Friday Brent had planned a surprise birthday party for Brenda, a fun dinner with all her sisters. It turned out so GOOD, she was SHOCKED! Brent is a sweetheart for going to so much effort to make this day special for her. We had some YUMMY pizza, Brent will tell you over and over how much he liked the wholewheat crust (he is a weirdo but we still love him). Brenda opened up her presents, and boy she hit the jack pot. It was a lot of fun to see a woman who does SO MUCH for everyone get spoiled. Now we just have to get her to wear the new clothes!

Brenda as I said before pretty much has a heart of GOLD. But more importantly she is a amazing example to Brandon and I of how we should be. She is a awesome grandma and couldn't love Irey more or be more willing to do ANYTHING for her. She is the kind of person I hope to someday be like, always saying good things about people, ready to help anyone, giving gifts to everyone for every occasion, a strong testimony, and a great example of being like our Savior. Brenda we LOVE you so much, Happy Birthday.
