This year was our 3rd Valentines day Brandon and I celebrated together. It's crazy that we have been together for three years and at the same time it's funny how fast three years goes by.

Our first Valentines day together was VERY romantic. Brandon was very impressive with his non stop surprises. Of course then we were first dating and he was still in the process of winning me over, so of course it was over the top.

He sent TWO huge flower arrangements to me at my salon, he decorated my station that I worked at, he decorated my car, he decorated my room, and he gave me countless gifts. I made him a little scrapbook of all the fun stuff we have done together so far, I made him a BYU blanket,

and got him tickets to go to a Grizzlie's game. It was very cheesy and romantic and I am very glad we got to do silly things like that while we dated.

Our second Valentines together was kinda pathetic. I was a little over 6 months pregnant and very sick so doing anything besides laying on the couch trying not to loose my lunch didn't appeal to me. I wanted our first Vday being married to be special so I tried to buck up and I got ready (which was rare considering my state in life) and waited for Brandon to come home to take me to dinner, which we rarely did because the smell of so much food made me too sick. I was waiting for Brandon to get home from work when he called me to tell me the car broke down and I had to go pick him up. He got off work late and was trying to pick me up some flowers to surprise me (which was very sweet considering we had NO money) but he was stranded. We were both in poor moods and Brandon was okay with calling it quits and going home but I was determined to have a romantic Vday. So we went to Cocolitos for dinner and the best part was I didn't throw up! So sad.

But this Valentines day was the best of all. I drove to Springville so Aunt Brielle could babysit and was stuck in traffic for a total of two hours. Brandon was patiently waiting for me to pick him up for over a hour. While he was waiting he walked to Macey's from work and bought me flowers and balloons, haha the gesture all by it's self made me smile. We went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, it's Brandon's very favorite. It was nice to just be with each other and eat some AWESOME food. We drove home and I went to the gym... what a day.

Nothing amazingly romantic happened. In fact it was really simple. But I say it's the best in all seriousness because I look at our past and I see our present and what makes this one so much better then the rest is where Brandon and I are at in life together. I am more in love then I have ever been because this man has held my hand through the hardest parts of my life. I am happier then I have ever been because through the good and the bad this man keeps a smile on my face and always makes me laugh. I am more blessed then I have ever been in my life because I have Brandon who works 65 hours a week and instead of ever complaining about how hard it is for him, he thanks his Heavenly Father for the chance to provide for his wife and daughter.
Brandon you amaze me. I know Vday is a sappy holiday but I am just thankful for a day to recognize the person I love. I am proud of the man that you are. You are strong in so many ways and I look up to you so much for your determination in life, your kindness, and your humility. You are Irelyn and I hero. We both think the world of you!
