Weekend Trip With Out the Babe

This weekend we were able to get a way and go down to St. George and Vegas. It was really REALLY hard not to pack up Irey and take her with us! But we knew it was time for mom and dad to get away all by themselves. Although we did spend a lot of time; missing her, saying how much she would like this and that, and talking non-stop about all the funny things she does. We did manage to get a few things in while missing our baby.
We tagged along with our good friends Murray and Kelsey who were going to Vegas to see O. Our first night was in St. George. We stayed in my parents lovely home down there, thank you Mark and Jackie for being so kind and letting us use your beautiful vacation home! We ate A LOT this weekend, which is becoming a trend with all my weekends. We ate out so much this weekend that Brandon is actually craving PBandJ!

We went to Texas Road House in St. George and YUMMY is all I can say for the food. The service was another story. We go to Texas Road House all the time here at home and we always have the best service, but for some reason this trip every restaurant we went to our waitress was not so great. At two of the places we went our waitresses had serious attitude and had no problem letting us know that we were a inconvenience. I couldn't figure out what message we were putting off? But fortunately for us I can say that that was the worst part about our trip!

The rolls by themselves are worth eating there for, but our steak was so dang good! And just to bug my husband we had to ask someone to take a picture. He hates pictures but he especially hates when I get the waiter to take one!
Don't you love when people pose in the back round of pictures like they are suppose to be a part of it? Like this woman could have kept about her way but instead she stops to be in our picture! Well the four of us plus one mystery woman had a great time at the Road House!

After dinner we soaked our cares away in the hot tub! Brandon could live in a hot tub, I can only stay in for about 10 minutes. But I took advantage of my alone time and read my book every chance I got because at home there is not a chance to read with out a disaster happening.
The next morning we were on our way to VEGAS BABY! My husband loves car rides as much as he loves pictures! Can't you tell? I love him, he is such a good sport to put up with me!

The boys went to a sports bar to watch "the game". There is always "the game" but I never have a clue which one? Well while they strolled the strip finding a place to hang out to watch "the game" Kelsey and I were off shopping, the real reason for our trip! We gave a whole new meaning to Shop till you drop. I would have done my mom proud! We hit, I swear, every store in Vegas! Kelsey and I had blisters on our feet like you would not believe. I can say that is was worth it though because; A: we got a good work out in with all the walking we did, no joke my legs are sore! B: we got some dang cute clothes and C: we have done our part to stimulate the economy! Don't worry we took one for the team, no need to thank me.
When we met up with our husbands we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Of course the meal was so dang good! I highly recommend their pasta! Each couple got cheesecake to share and you know that it was the best part of the meal!
Again with the ornery waitress! Who thought we were lame because we wanted our check separated and was pissed when she came back to get it, 10 seconds later, and we had yet to get our money ready! Good thing we were in Vegas and by this point in the night, laughing at crazy people was what we had done all day!

Well Murray showed them... he walked out with his drink and didn't return the glass! BURN! They will be wishing they treated us better now!

By the time we got out of dinner we had 10 minutes before our show was about to start. So we ran, but remember the Kels and I had blisters on our feet from walking all day and we just ate a heavy meal, so when I say ran... they ran and I hobbled while trying not to throw up! I was so sure I was breaking my toes with each painful step. But we made it and O, was to say the least, out of this world! You would have to see it for yourself to understand. It's truly unnatural for human bodies to bend and move that way plus the chirography made it that much more spectacular!

After the show we walked through the casino and of course we had to gamble, just a little tiny bit! Since I am not the magical number 21, Kelsey took my $1 and bet it for me. As expected we lost the $1, so lesson learned, gambling is stupid. And I am glad I was able to sacrifice myself to be a example of that, hehe!
We drove back to St. George that night and crashed into those amazing beds that you never want to crawl out of. But when the sun came our it was calling our names so eventually we did crawl out because you cant waste the beautiful weather! We got some much needed breakfast and IHOP, funny enough our waiter there I am pretty sure was high and he was the best one we had all weekend. After breakfast we plopped our bums on the couch and watched... LOST! Basically the best way to end a weekend get-a-way!

Before we hit the road to head home we got some In and Out because Brandon might have died if we didn't make it there before going home!
This weekend was just what we all needed! Now my blues have gone away for a little while and have given me hope that spring is really around the corner! I think Brandon and Murray had the most fun of all. They needed this trip the most and it was a LOT of FUN to watch the unwind and get goofy! And they were SO goofy all weekend long! It was nice to fall in love with Brandon's goofy side again.

I am officially jealous. I would love to be ANYWHERE right now. Enjoy these get aways as much as you can while Irey is still young. I wish we would have! Add one more child on top of it and it's IMPOSSIBLE!!

How fun you got to get away! That's always nice ; ) Looks like a lot of fun and I'm definitely jealous! I wish we were going to be back in town before then, but Chason's family is most likely coming here during the summer...meaning we probably won't be back in Utah until Christmas! It just sucks cause plane tickets are so dang expensive!
