A Thanksgiving of Firsts

This was a Thanksgiving full of firsts for our family. This was Irelyn's first Thanksgiving. Although all she missed out on the feasting of potatoes and turkey, she seemed to have enjoyed Gerber's Pears and Carrots (her favorites) and a couple bottles, to her it was a feast.

I think the thing she enjoyed most was watching dad and the uncles play football outside. Brandon had bundled her up and she didn't take her eyes off the ball. Irey is all girl through and through but for some reason she really does like football. She made a good cheerleader for the boys until mom saved her from the cold.
Another first is this was Jackie's first Thanksgiving she has ever hosted. She did a beautiful job. The tables were decorated BEAUTIFULLY (what else could you expect from my mom) and the dinner was AWESOME. My dad did a great job with the Turkeys.
This was my first Thanksgiving I have ever cooked for. I made some YUMMY mashed potatoes and rolls. I never made something for so many people and making something as essential to the meal like, THE mashed potatoes, I was kinda nervous but pleased with how it all turned out.
And lastly for our list of firsts, this was our first Thanksgiving together as a little Blackwell family. My dad had us go around the table and say what we are thankful for as a tradition of ours, and all I could think about was my little family and how blessed I feel to have them, and to know that I have them forever.

I've been such a slacker at peeking in on you guys and I've missed so much! Glad I got all caught up! It's SO crazy how much Irelyn and Cassi are alike! I'm SO sorry that she's been so sick. Cassi's got something too, along with the rest of us and it is SO hard. The worst part is that I miss that sweet little, always happy, bright sunshine munchkin. Hope your little bright, smiley munchkin gets better soon! Let me know if you need anything. Oh, and I love what you did for your mother-in-law's b-day. You're too cute!
