Oh, I knew it would hard with the temper-tantrums, coloring on the walls, and the constant, "Irey do it! No mommy" Not to mention the amount of taking off clothes and pooping/peeing everywhere but in her diaper.
Yes, all this was to be expected. What I didn't anticipate is that in between ALL that not so awesome two-ish stuff, there would be moments where your whole heart fills up with joy and pride for how AMAZING your two year old is!
As hard as some days can be, ya know the ones... where you husband asks how was your day and your response is tears, well after that there is always seems to be a good day to follow.
I am loving seeing her vibrant personality come out more and more every day. I am fascinated with all she is learning and sometimes embarrassed at how much she really picks up on. Like when I do my daily Crest run (gas station with good foutian drinks, and if you didn't know that some gas stations are better then others, you are obviously not a addict like me, good for you) and I am at the drive through, they say "What can I get for you?" I always say, "Diet Pepsi, extra ice please." Irey and I do this at least five times a week. Well today when I made my Crest run, as we are waiting to order my drink she starts saying, "Peppie (as she calls it), ice, please!" At that moment I felt like a loser mom because my kids knows what I drink and I am obviously there too much BUT I felt proud at how observant and smart she is... so it took the edge off the looser-ish feeling.
The independence could kill me some days. Like when I am in a hurry and she demands doing it herself, oh I could pull out my hair! But along with the independence comes the reliability. Like whenever she needs a diaper change, she lets me know and will bring me her diapers and wipes. Very efficient this one.
One Sunday we were upstairs with my family watching a movie. Irey was sitting and laying all over me, so jokingly I said to her, "Irey mommy wants a Fresca, can you go get it for me?!" Her eyes get all big and she says, "Yup!" all excited and runs off... mind you the drinks are kept in the downstairs kitchen in the basement on the other end of the house. Brandon says, "If she brings you a Fresca she is a genius." I expected her to get side tracked and get busy with something else. OH but that Irey, comes running up to me a few minuets later and says, "Here you go!" and hands me a Fresca! I don't know if you had to be there to fully realize how funny this was but we were laughing so hard that this tiny little girl can take drink orders and she did for the rest of the night for the whole family. Now she getting every ones drinks, if only she could learn to shut the fridge.
I love how bound and determined Irey is with everything she does! I would love to say this is a trait she got from me but with out a doubt she has her dads focus (thank heavens). I love seeing how she has my animation and yes, she is a chatter box like her mom and for the record I think it's cute! It's fun to see what your kids get from you and your husband, and sometimes a little scary.
I love how she is rough and tough and loves to watch sports and wrestle with dad but is SO girly and loves to have her nails painted and "help" mom put on her make-up! She changes her clothes ten times a day and my dad is always asking what outfit number is this one.
I think it's interesting how sometimes she is the meanest kid on the playground (that's not as interesting as it is annoying) and other times she is every ones friend, especially the kid who is crying. She has the softest heart and is always very concerned who is sad and wants to make them happy. She is very maternal already, it will be fun to see her with siblings.
I love that when she sleeps, it's like a rock, and there is NO waking her up! And I love that in the mornings and after her naps, she is the happiest kid in the world, only if it's me she wakes up to though! That's right, I am her favorite!
This was a night when we were going to dinner and couldn't get Irey to stay awake! I even gave her a stick of gum to keep her up but she would fall asleep before she could get it into her mouth!
I love how on a daily basis she makes me laugh and makes me feel so proud to be her mom! I love the person she is becoming and I am excited to she who she will be as she grows older.
Yes there are those kind of days, when you want to clock out as a mom and hide where no one can find you! But thank goodness for the sweet moments in between that make me love my job as a mom and feel blessed to have her!

Oh she's so cute! I loved that post. I can't believe how old she is getting. You are such a good mommy :)
What a fun reminder! I didn't feel that way until my mom pointed it out! She was in Nursery for over 3 years and absolutely loved it because 2 year olds are her favorite!
She is getting so big! She is such a doll!!!
I LOVE the picture of her sleeping with the gum in her hand. SO DANG cute!!
