Memorial Day 2010

We were so glad to get a three day weekend! Memorial Day for us this year was fun, relaxing, and full of family and friends!

We didn't start the day off with a plan but as it went on we found ourselves going from one thing to the next!
We started the morning off with a hike up the canyon with the Blackwell clan. We stopped at a park on our hike and the guys threw around the football and Frisbee while Irey played on the playground.

After a little while we realized how hungry we were and decided we should get some KFC and go to another park (where no hiking is involved) and enjoy the much needed beautiful weather. We had a blast at the park and had a great time being with the Blackwell Fam. It seems with such busy lives we never get enough time with family and Irey eats up every second of being with her aunts and uncles!

After the park we stopped by my nephew Carson's grave. The cemetery was so full of flowers and people! At first I wanted to come back when it was more quiet and less crowded but once we got out of the car and got to his grave it almost brought me some peace to know that there are so many people who feel the same way we do and have someone they love and miss. Since Carson was born Memorial Day was more then just a three day weekend and I am so glad to see that there are so many other people out there who see it the same way. The cemetery was beautiful and there were almost no graves with out flowers to adorn them. Next year I want to bring some flowers for those empty graves because it's too sad to see them so desolate.

We ended a great day with dinner and a movie with some good friends. Overall it was a perfect day and weekend and I am so grateful for that time I got to spend with my little family!
