Summer Time!

This summer we didn't have any big trips planned or anything exciting going on. When people ask me whats new, I have nothing to share...
Life this summer has been pretty chill

And I am loving every second of it!!!

It really is the simple things in life that are the best! Brands and I have been focusing our "extra" time on just doing things together as a family. So far we are having a blast and this is my favorite summer yet.

Irey has gone mini golfing and bowling with us for her first time. It's been really fun to see her try all these new things. She just keeps us running after her all the time!

And what would summer be with out some ice cream on hot Sunday afternoons? Irey is becoming more and more like her mom (scary) and that would include a obsession with ice cream! She inhales it and of course it gets all over her and she is SO mad when it's gone AND she has to get cleaned up!

One of THE BEST parts about summer is being able to take walks. The perfect time of day for us is in the morning before it gets too hot (if I manage to drag myself out of the house) and Irey can take her baby and her play stroller and cruise the neighborhood. I love that it stays so light out so late, once Brandon's home and dinner is over we can go on a walk with Irey strapped into her stroller and we can actually talk and just enjoy the beauty of NO snow and NO cold!
And of course there is the pool! Irelyn is obsessed with the pool and asks to go EVERY day. We are in swim lessons right now, the mommy and baby classes. Why did I think this was a good idea?! Swim lessons are a pain and I hate them but Irey loves just being in the water and even if it is only for 30 minuets at least she is getting somewhat of a fix.

To my surprise we have managed to make it to a pool about twice a week and have had a blast just swimming and relaxing. Irey is a little fishy and loves to stay in the water till her lips turn blue and I love the fact that she will stay in the water and I can sit and soak up the sun!

My sister Jamie, my cousin Andrea, and myself got summer movie passes for us and our kids. They play different kids movies once a week all summer long. Their drinks, popcorn, and treats are like 50 cents each so we stock up on those and I put Irey in a booster seat and hope we make it to the end of the movie. Sometimes she wont sit still but for the most part she really likes it because it's just exciting to go do something different. It's made her better and sitting still and watching movies at home which makes it all worth it.

For FHE this last week my dad got us all tickets to go to the Owls game at UVU! It was really hot and the Owls winning streak came to a dead stop that night but it was such a fun time with the family so none of it mattered! The kids all kept saying, "Go CJ!!!" because the only other baseball games we go to are his. So naturally he was playing for the Owls too!

The kids had a blast and the dads had fun buying the concessions out of food! I have never seen more ball park food in all my life! The girls where fascinated and terrified of the mascot. They kept wanting to get close but if we got too close they would freak out. Irey is squeezing my shoulder for dear life and two seconds after this pic she started crying. It was really funny.
What is summer with out a little baseball?!

Sometimes the best part of summer is the most random things you do because it's summer and no matter how old you get you can't help but remembering being a kid!
This morning Brandon got home from UPS early and neither of us could sleep so we sat in bed talking. Finally at about 6 am I jokingly said that Magleby's Fresh was open and we could always get some breakfast when we can't sleep. But Brandon being in his crazy beyond tired/super silly kind of mood, loved the idea so the two of us ran of to Magleby's. Irey was sleeping and gma was listening for her upstairs, there is one HUGE perk to living with the parents!

We got there and realized they don't open till 6:30. So we waited for 20 minuets all the while having these crazy conversations that still make me laugh because they make almost no sense but when you are so sleepy everything is silly and seemingly logical. Well we got our breakfast and went back home to cuddle in a nice comfy bed. It was pure HEAVEN!

I love summer for all these wonderful moments that are so simple but SO much fun and I am sure will be some memories I will not want to forget!
